As you left me
You hugged me tightly
And whispered something in my ear
Those words are now my memory
Of all the times you were near

I expected your absence
To completely tear me apart
Not quite knowing
How to keep on going
Because you were here from the start

Turns out I was right
Because with you out of sight
I don’t know which way to turn

All you left me are memories
I don’t share with anybody else
I can tell them all the details
But they still won’t know how it felt

I miss you
